At the beginning of 2005, Jinnan Development Area successfully introduced Tianjin Plastic Group Co., Ltd to settle here. This new important strength was brought into the development of plastic product industry in the Area and established solid foundation for building plastic industry base. Utilizing the pilotage status of Plastic Group, the Development Area “made a nest for attracting phoenix” and attracted many enterprises for plastic product in succession, especially the Taiwan Company which is at leading status in plastic industry, e.g. Taiwan Kingswel Group, which is a leader of plastic equipment manufacturing, has successfully establishes factory in the Development Area. This plays an import role in the forming of plastic industrial chain in Tianjin. So far, the Area has introduced a total of 14 plastic enterprises as Donghai Plastic-rubber, Kommerling Material, Rexam Der Kwei Industrial, Gloport Plastic Industrial and Linyang Plastic Industry, etc. The total annual output of those 14 enterprises reaches to 80,000 tons with an annual production value of ￥1.3 billions. Plastic industry has gradually become another bright one of Jinnan Development Area.

In future development of the Area, it will continue to exert its advantages of large market potential in north, development techniques of Tianjin Plastic Research Institute as well as that of plastic industrial base, which nears to Dagang Petrochemical Area and Hangu Marine Chemical Area. On basis of product district, it will make efforts to construct plastic mould and mechanical equipment districts. Form the development phase of “three sections, three organizations and three types of dominant products”; establish and extend plastic industrial chain; promote core competitiveness for industrial investment attraction of Jinnan Economic Development Area.
